Emulating a professional photographer
American photographer Stuart Klipper is known for his landscape portraits. He has photographed all across the world including the frigid regions of Anartica and Greenland, the tropics of Costa Rica, and the deserts of Israeli. I chose to look into landscape photographers because it is my personal favorite type of photography. Klipper's photographers are anesthetically pleasing and utilizes a lot of different lighting and color combinations. For 30 years Klipper travelled through America's 50 states capturing defining characteristics throughout the country. A lot of Klipper's best works utilize vanishing point composition, which is what attracted me to his work. Exploring his other photographs I was inspired by his use of monochromatic colors in pictures while still being attractive and evoking emotion. Klipper taught me to look at landscapes and find the beauty in them, rather than the beauty already being present in the form of a sunset, body of water, or land mass.

About the Final Project
I chose to photograph my dogs for the final project, as they are what I am passionate about. All the photographs utilize different lighting techniques. The bottom row uses diffused lighting. I think that it captures the colors and the warm feelings that live in each picture. In the top row I tried color saturation, front, and side light. Each photograph can stand alone however, as a collection I tried to put together different combinations of lighting to show my development through the course.
Course Goals and Achievements
I have achieved all my goals for this course. I can not only critique others photography's, but draw inspiration from them. I have a better understanding of photography and recognize the importance of lighting, composition and color. I also see myself looking at things more creatively. I analyze things from different angles and can create much better images than before this course.
